One of the places we went to was coffee bar “Koffie and Staal”, translated as “Coffee and Steel”.
Coffee and cake at coffee bar Koffie en Staal
If you think Koffie en Staal is just a place where they sell iron strong coffee, you’re mistaken. It’s a bright coffee bar where owners Nouchka and Lino present their handmade furniture and jewelry mixed with some secondhand items. Everything in the store is for sale and can even be customized to fit your home perfectly. Besides furniture and jewelry, Koffie en Staal also sells coffee from local coffee brewer MOK.
And of course, they’ll also serve you a cup.
Koffie en Staal has a nice menu with several hot drinks, orange juices, and tea. You can also get breakfast here and every day there are freshly baked cakes. My friend and I both ordered the blueberry pie. She combined it with a latte and I tried the apple-rhubarb juice. We’d actually come here specifically to try out the pie as several people I know had already told me it’s delicious – and they were right. Light and not too sugary, just perfect. By the way, they also had some gluten-free pie, so Koffie en Staal is a good place to come if that’s something you need to look out for.
Service was friendly and quick. I’ll definitely be back.
